Poetry Competition Organized for Mevlana

The World Mevlana Foundation is organizing an award-winning poetry competition in honor of the 750th anniversary of Hazrat Mevlana's passing.

In a written statement issued by the World Mevlana Foundation, it was stated that the foundation was established with the aim of introducing Hazrat Mevlana and Mevlevism in its original form and to counteract cultural imperialism directed towards Mevlana and Mevlevism. As part of their efforts, they have decided to organize a poetry competition.

Anyone aged 18 and above who wishes to participate can join this poetry competition, which will be organized at the national level. The winning poet in the competition will receive a cash prize of 50,000 Turkish Lira for the first place, 25,000 Turkish Lira for the second place, and 10,000 Turkish Lira for the third place. Additionally, three honorable mentions will each be awarded 5,000 Turkish Lira. To participate in the competition, applicants must complete their submissions between July 11, 2023, and November 10, 2023.
