Red Lentil Harvest Begins in Beyşehir

The red lentil harvest has officially begun in Beyşehir, a district of Konya known for its agricultural production. Farmers have started harvesting in Sadıkhacı Neighborhood, where a significant share of the district's crop is grown, while local agricultural officials visited the fields to observe the harvest..

Red lentil harvesting is now underway across Beyşehir, one of Konya's key agricultural districts. As producers began work in the fields, teams from the Beyşehir District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry carried out on-site inspections to observe the harvest.

During the visits, District Director of Agriculture and Forestry Hüseyin Özver and technical staff met with farmers to discuss the progress of the harvest and assess crop conditions for the season.

Approximately 20,000 decares of land across the district are devoted to red lentil cultivation, with around 10,000 decares located in Sadıkhacı Neighborhood. The area is one of the district's leading centers for red lentil production.

Meanwhile, the geographical indication registration process for "Beyşehir Red Lentils" is continuing. Officials expect a productive harvest this year, citing favorable rainfall during the 2026 growing season, while farmers are hoping for a successful and abundant harvest.
