The Konya Metropolitan Municipality is once again bringing the “Sacred Relics” exhibition together with residents of Konya during Ramadan this year.
The exhibition, held this year at the Tantavi Culture and Art Center, was opened with hymns and prayers.
Speaking at the opening, one of Türkiye’s prominent custodians of sacred relics, Erol Güzel, stated that Konya is a city where spirituality reaches its peak. He said, “Thankfully, our Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay is truly very attentive and sensitive about this matter. Here, our Mayor brings together those who love with the ones they love, uniting hearts. He brings together those who burn with love for the Prophet with the people of Konya. Hopefully, it will be a very beautiful exhibition; in fact, it is not an exhibition space but a place of visitation. We have set a one-month period for this visit. God willing, it will be a Ramadan filled to the fullest, rich in spirituality. Our visitors will have the opportunity to encounter all the relics of the Prophet from the Age of Bliss to the present day, and to know and understand him better.”
Uğur İbrahim Altay, Mayor of the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, thanked Erol Güzel for bringing the pieces in his collection together with Konya, stating: “Mr. Erol Güzel has once again shown this kindness this year. Last year, there was a very high number of visitors at the Metropolitan Municipality Stone Building Exhibition Hall. This year, God willing, it will be open to our citizens at the Tantavi Culture and Art Center between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. We are bringing together many sacred and historical artifacts with the people of Konya, ranging from the covers of the Kaaba to strands of the Prophet’s blessed beard, from the key of the Kaaba to the coverings from the Prophet’s chamber. It has become an exhibition in line with the spirit of Ramadan. From the very moment you step inside, it is truly impossible not to be moved. I invite the people of Konya to this beautiful exhibition at the Tantavi Culture and Art Center.”
Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay also recalled that the Siyer Exhibition, prepared by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality to present the Prophet’s arrival into the world and his blessed journey of prophethood, attracted great interest at the Stone Building. He said, “This year, we have another exhibition at the Stone Building. We have a digital Siyer exhibition that tells the life of the Prophet. God willing, we also invite our citizens to visit the exhibition there.”
