The 17th Golden Touches Festival, to be held by Konya Metropolitan Municipality’s Vocational Training Courses, will welcome visitors at the Selçuklu Congress Center from December 7 to 17.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay emphasized that they are excited to host the Golden Touches Festival for the 17th time this year through KOMEK, which has become a leading brand in Konya’s education landscape.
Mayor Altay noted that the festival is an important event that highlights Konya’s cultural heritage, women’s production, and the richness of local arts. He said:
“The exhibition will present 2,025 handcrafted works prepared by KOMEK trainees throughout the year, displayed within a thematic framework. We chose ‘The Silk Road’ as the main theme of the festival, as it represents a strategic civilizational route through which culture, art, and trade have flowed throughout history. Our exhibition will feature a wide range of traditional arts, from marbling and calligraphy to tel kırma, felt work, carpet and kilim weaving, wood painting, and more.
As part of the festival, we will also host activities, talks, concerts, and workshops for all audiences, especially children. I invite all residents of Konya, our guests, and art enthusiasts to visit the Selçuklu Congress Center between December 7 and 17.”
The Golden Touches Festival will showcase traditional arts blended with modern interpretations. In addition to the handcrafted works on display, daily workshops in different disciplines will be held, giving visitors the chance to participate in hands-on activities guided by instructors. Konya will enjoy eleven days filled with culture and art through talks, stage performances, concerts, and entertaining programs for children.
The 17th Golden Touches Exhibition will open to visitors on December 7, with the official opening ceremony set for December 9 at 9:00 a.m. The exhibition will be open at the Selçuklu Congress Center from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. until December 17.
