Mustafa Büyükeğen, President of the Konya Chamber of Industry (KSO), evaluated the export figures announced by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM).
President Büyükeğen, highlighting that Konya set an export record in the January-September period of this year, said, "Our industrialists in Konya managed to increase our exports by 6.1% over the 9-month period. Thus, with over 2.608 billion dollars in exports, we achieved the highest January-September export figure of all time. With this momentum of success in exports, we will hopefully set a new record by the end of the year. I thank all our industrialists and workers who have brought this honor to our city."
President Büyükeğen also provided information on the sectoral changes in exports, stating that the top three sectors in which Konya exported the most were the automotive industry, the machinery and equipment sector, and the grains, pulses, and oilseeds sector, respectively.
Sharing that the automotive industry sector led Konya’s exports during this period with 663 million 125 thousand dollars, Büyükeğen said, “Our machinery and equipment sector, which ranks second, achieved 631 million 511 thousand dollars in exports, while the grains, pulses, and oilseeds sector, which ranks third, reached 293 million 439 thousand dollars. Additionally, the air conditioning industry ranked fourth in our exports, followed by the iron and non-ferrous metals sector in fifth place."
President Büyükeğen added that as the Konya Chamber of Industry (KSO), they will continue their efforts to increase the city’s exports and support its expansion into new markets through initiatives such as bilateral business meetings, international trade fair visits, export-focused training programs, and projects like the International Competitiveness Development (UR-GE) Projects.
