The fifth edition of BILFEST, a science festival traditionally organized under the Meram Development Academy (MEGA), established by Meram Municipality, was held at the Tantavi Culture and Arts Center with strong participation.
Organized in cooperation with Meram Municipality and the Meram District Directorate of National Education, BILFEST 5 has become an important platform where primary school students from across the district showcase their scientific projects and innovative ideas.
As part of the festival, which was held for the fifth time this year, students presented their projects to jury members and visitors on the first day. Following the evaluations conducted on the second day, the winning projects were announced.
A total of 40 original projects took part in this year’s event, with 21 competing in the Science category and 19 in the Social Sciences category. The festival brought together 78 students and 40 supervising teachers. Aiming to promote scientific thinking, problem-solving, design, innovation, programming, and the use of technology, the festival provided students with an opportunity to present the projects they had developed throughout the year to the public.
Speaking at the event, Mustafa Kavuş said that BILFEST is one of the best examples of the strong connection children have built with science. Noting that the festival, held for the fifth time this year, continues to grow with each edition, Kavuş said:
“BILFEST, which we organize under MEGA, Meram’s educational program that serves as a model for Türkiye, has become one of our district’s traditional events. BILFEST is not merely a competition where projects are judged. It is a unique journey where curiosity turns into knowledge, imagination into innovation, and ideas into science. Every project exhibited here today demonstrates the remarkable creativity of our children and strengthens our hopes for the future.”
