The Konya Chamber of Industry held the 3rd Green Transformation and Sustainability Summit in Industry program.
Konya hosted Turkey's largest summit on green transformation and sustainable industry.
The 3rd Green Transformation and Sustainability Summit in Industry, organized by the Konya Chamber of Industry in collaboration with the Economy Newspaper and under the auspices of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, took place at the Selçuklu Congress Center.
In his opening speech at the program, Mustafa Büyükeğen, President of the Konya Chamber of Industry, stated, “I hope our summit will create a new awareness regarding green transformation in our industrial enterprises and be beneficial for our city and our country. Konya has become one of Turkey's leading industrial centers with its successes in industry. With 12 Organized Industrial Zones, over 120 industrial sites, and industries established in various parts of our city, we are the fourth largest machine exporter in Turkey, following Istanbul, Ankara, and Bursa. We rank among the top four in defense industry exports in Turkey and are the seventh largest exporter in the automotive industry. Today, 47.5% of our total industrial production consists of medium-high technology. Despite all the challenging conditions, high inflation, and the ongoing wars and instabilities around us, our industrialists in Konya maintain their appetite for production and continue to grow. They produce across a wide range of sectors and export over 3.3 billion dollars annually to 195 countries. Industrial products constitute 95% of our total exports.”
