Konya Rises in Defense Industry Exports

Mustafa Büyükeğen, President of the Konya Chamber of Industry, said that Konya ranks as Turkey’s fourth-largest city in defense and aviation industry exports.

Mustafa Büyükeğen, President of the Konya Chamber of Industry, emphasized that Konya ranks fourth in Turkey after Ankara, Istanbul and Eskişehir in defense and aerospace industry exports, and highlighted that the city’s exports in the sector have increased 6.2 times over the past 10 years.

Mustafa Büyükeğen, President of the Konya Chamber of Industry, said, “In 2015, our city exported 26.7 million dollars in the defense and aerospace industry. By 2024, this figure has reached 165.7 million dollars. In the first six months of this year alone, we achieved 96.3 million dollars in defense industry exports. In addition, the number of our companies listed as Approved Suppliers by the General Directorate of Military Factories has reached 51.
