Meram Mayor Mustafa Kavuş inspected the Sükran Urban Transformation Project in the Sahibata neighborhood, which is set to make significant contributions to the city's tourism and social life.
Mayor Kavuş gathered information from the engineers and officials overseeing the project during his inspection.
Mayor Mustafa Kavuş noted that final touches are being made to the stage of the project that is counting down to its launch. He announced that all work on this stage would be completed within a few months. The project, which involves the relocation of Turkey’s second-largest registered buildings, has successfully moved six historic buildings and artifacts alongside the three existing ones. Mayor Kavuş stated, “Recently, we celebrated the first milestone of our major transformation project in Şükran with the 'Suriçi Çarşısı,' showcasing a project that brings joy to our district and city. Life here will begin with all its vibrancy and pace. I mentioned that the opening of 126 shops and 64 offices in Suriçi Çarşısı marks the start of a new era of openings in Şükran. We will soon reach the second milestone with the Tescilli Ada Stage, which will be the continuation of Suriçi Çarşısı.”
Mayor Mustafa Kavuş highlighted that the project, which will revitalize the entire Şükran Urban Transformation Area known as Suriçi, will bring significant vibrancy to the region. He explained that unlike the Bedesten area and its surroundings, this area is planned to continue its lively atmosphere even in the evenings.
