Konya Geopark Project Set to Boost Tourism Potential

The Konya Geopark Project will be launched under the leadership of Konya Metropolitan Municipality with the support of numerous institutions and organizations.

As part of the Geopark Project, which holds great importance for the future of tourism in Konya, key sites reflecting the geological and natural heritage of the Karapınar district were examined on-site. Inspections were carried out at Karapınar Acıgöl, Meke Maar, and the Karapınar Desertification and Erosion Research Center.

The project aims to contribute to the tourism potential of the city in many areas, including the protection, development, and promotion of Konya’s natural and cultural assets through a holistic approach, as well as the establishment and operation of social and technical infrastructure related to culture and tourism.
