White oil will gush out from Konya!

Geothermal resources will be searched for by opening 15 drilling wells in Akşehir district of Konya.

Geothermal resource exploration and extraction activities are planned to be carried out by Yediyol Tourism Joint Stock Company in the field with license number Rn:Dec.42.00.2021.Jeo.10 (ER:3410387) in Konya Province, Akşehir District, Yazla Neighbourhood. The value of the project is calculated as 17.5 million TL.

Within the scope of the project, it is thought that a total of 15 drilling points will be opened, 5 in each of 3 separate areas determined on a total area of ​​775 hectares, and the thermal power will be 8.4 MWe. After the exploration work is completed, if the geothermal source is reached and positive results are obtained, the well mouth will be closed and taken under control using a valve. If a positive result is obtained, it will be used by the project owner in the appropriate project according to the temperature values ​​of the resulting water.

If sufficient productive water is available, inefficient wells will be used as reinjection wells. In this context, 3 reinjection wells are planned to be opened. For geothermal resource exploration, drilling will be carried out in the project area from the surface to the underground with a drilling machine at a depth of 1,350 ± 150 m, with an estimated temperature of 50 0C and an estimated flow rate of 40 l/sec, depending on the need.

As a result of the drilling activity, evaluations such as the amount of geothermal resource reserves determined and quality suitability will be made, and if the resources are deemed suitable, the production phase will begin.
