Congratulatory Messages for 10 January Working Journalists Day from Konya

In Konya, the mayors of Selçuklu, Meram and Karatay issued a congratulatory message on the occasion of January 10 Working Journalists Day.

In his message, Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatmacı stated that the press is one of the cornerstones of democracy as the most effective tool of freedom of thought, expression and information.

Pointing out that members of the press undertake an important mission for the protection of democracy by ensuring the flow of data between institutions and individuals, Pekyatmacı said, "In this context, Konya press continues to be an example with its publications in accordance with ethical rules. I appreciate the efforts and selfless work of all our press members who work selflessly day and night in order to ensure that the public is instantly aware of all the developments in the country and the world agenda. With these feelings and thoughts, I congratulate the day of all our journalists, especially the local newspapers, who carry out their impartial and principled journalism duties, with my sincerest wishes and wish them ease in their duties."

In his message, Meram Mayor Mustafa Ulaş emphasized that members of the press have fulfilled their duty to provide information about the events taking place all over the world with their selfless work.

Pointing out that the current age of technology makes it easier to access information, but brings along various problems, Ulaş said, "At this point, our journalists prevent disinformation by filtering false news and information with their experience and experience. It is an undeniable fact that our Republic of Turkey is preparing for its 100th anniversary and the efforts and contributions of our esteemed journalists in overcoming the troubles our country is in with their objective news and in the increase of the successes it has achieved, and in the breakthroughs and studies it has made in the light of the vision of the Turkish Century."

Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca also celebrated the January 10 Working Journalists Day of journalists in his message.

Kılca stated that the members of the press made significant contributions to the development of the city on a local scale and the country in general, and said:

"All press and media organizations of Konya, which is the eyes, ears and voice of our people, are in a position to be appreciated with their work in fulfilling their functionality and duties, the publications they have made and the products they have produced.
