Domestic Train Sets to Serve Konya Suburbs

The locally produced train sets, which carried out test drives in Konya in recent months, will also be used on the Konya suburban line.

The vehicles to be used in the KonyaRay suburban project, which will shape the future of transportation in Konya, have been announced. The domestically produced and nationally developed train sets, which carried out test runs in Konya in recent months, will also operate on the Konya suburban line.

Sharing the technical details of these train sets, which were used in the Gaziray project by Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality and have also been brought to Konya, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the domestically produced train set has a capacity of 1,000 passengers.

Providing information about the train sets, Minister Uraloğlu stated, “Each of our train sets is designed with an operating speed of 90 kilometers per hour and aluminum car bodies. Each set, consisting of four cars—two of which have driver cabins—has a total passenger capacity of 1,000, including 206 seated passengers.”
