In order to honour masters who carry the memory of culture, the “Ministry of Culture and Tourism Special Awards and Living Human Treasures Awards Ceremony” was held at the Presidential Complex. At the ceremony, Dr. Hüseyin Öksüz, an academic member of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design at Konya Chamber of Commerce (KTO) Karatay University, received the “Living Human Treasures” award for his expertise in the art of calligraphy (husn-i hat). Hüseyin Öksüz received his award from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy.
During the ceremony, masters from various regions of Türkiye who are highly skilled in their respective fields were granted the title of “Living Human Treasures.” Dr. Hüseyin Öksüz was among the distinguished names included on this prestigious list with his half-century of experience and works in the art of calligraphy. With this award, Öksüz’s contribution to the traditional artistic heritage has once again been officially recognized by the state.
Prof. Dr. Fevzi Rifat Ortaç, Rector of KTO Karatay University, congratulated Dr. Hüseyin Öksüz on being deemed worthy of the Living Human Treasures award and stated that “This award is an important indication that Mr. Öksüz’s artistic journey and his contributions to our cultural heritage have been recognized at the state level. On this occasion, I congratulate our esteemed professor and thank him for his contributions to traditional Turkish arts, the academic world and our university.
