It was reported that 281,000 people visited the historical
Eşrefoğlu Mosque in Beyşehir district in one year.
The historical Eşrefoğlu Mosque in the Beyşehir district was
reported to have been visited by 281,000 people in one year. District Mufti
Veysel Kükrek, in his statement, mentioned that digital measurements have been
taken at the historical site, which is the largest wooden-columned mosque in
Anatolia, for over a year.
Kükrek emphasized that the number of visitors to the
Eşrefoğlu Mosque had reached 281,000 as of the end of July. He provided the
following information: "This is a remarkable figure for mosques in a
modest city like ours in Anatolia. Our one-year visitor count between July 2022
and July 2023 has reached 281,000. We have a 12-month report on this. In July
of the previous year, our visitor count was 38,000, while this year in July, it
reached around 49,000. Our visitor count for the same period has increased by
approximately 30 percent compared to last year, which is also quite impressive.
Looking at our statistics, our visitors primarily come on Saturdays and
Sundays. There have been days when we had as many as 4,000 visitors in a single
day."
Prof. Dr. Abdullah Karaman, the Dean of the Beyşehir Ali
Akkanat Tourism Faculty at Selçuk University (SU), also emphasized that the
historical Eşrefoğlu Mosque is unique in many aspects and serves as a tourist
attraction worldwide due to its distinctive features.
