The opening of the TUBITAK 4008 "Unhindered Science
with Special Children in Nature" project, supported within the framework
of the inclusive community applications for individuals with special needs,
took place at Sille Nature School.
The Project, conducted under the guidance of Osman Kaynar, a
History Teacher at Yüksel Bahadır Alaylı Science and Art Center, included
activities that took place in various locations in Konya between June 19th and
June 24th. The project, which consisted of more than 20 activities and
workshops, was attended by students and parents from different schools in the Selçuklu
district. During the project, children had fun while learning.
The project carried out in collaboration between Selçuk
University and Necmettin Erbakan University with the support of Selçuklu
Municipality, allowed students to engage with art in different locations within
the scope of the TUBITAK 4008 Project. Osman Kaynar, the project coordinator,
stated, "The aim of the project is to provide special children with
opportunities to explore nature and engage in interactive experiences with science.
The project included activities such as Beyşehir nature observation, visits to
Çatalhöyük, Torku Sugar Factories, Butterfly Valley and workshop sessions. The
project also aims to raise awareness about disabled individuals in
society."
