International Konya Model United Nations Conference begins in Konya

The “International Konya Model United Nations Conference,” organized under the auspices of the Konya Governorship and with the support of the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, has begun.

During the opening session of the conference held at the Seljuk Congress Center, Konya Provincial Director of National Education, Murat Yiğit, expressed his best wishes for the conference, noting the participation of 62 schools from Turkey, as well as 8 schools from Germany, Norway, and Uzbekistan.

Ahmet Murat Koru, the Deputy Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, expressed that the platform where young ideas from all around the world converge will not only be a conference but also a means to nurture future leaders who will shape the future.

The World Uyghur Council's United Nations Representative, Zümretay Arkin, stated, “We dream of a world where everyone can live in fairness, health, and justice. We desire intergenerational dialogue and collaboration. I hope that this International Konya Model United Nations Conference becomes a turning point in your lives.”

The “International Konya Model United Nations Conference,” attended by 400 high school students from across Turkey and abroad, is organized with the aim of generating solution proposals for global issues in accordance with United Nations procedures. The conference will last for 4 days.
