The historical Sille Subaşı Bathhouse, located in the Sille
neighborhood and restored by Selçuklu Municipality, is being transformed into
the "Architecture Museum".
Sille, one of the significant tourism centers of Konya and
Turkey, is gaining value through the restoration efforts undertaken by Selçuklu
Municipality. In this context, the historical Sille Subaşı Bathhouse, after its
restoration has been completed, is regaining its historical identity thanks to
exemplary cooperation between Selçuklu Municipality and the Konya Chamber of
Architects. It is being transformed into Turkey's first Architecture Museum.
Upon the completion of the project, the building, which will
function as both a museum and a boutique establishment, will not only
contribute to tourism but also serve as a source of inspiration for
professionals practicing the field of architecture.
Former President of the Konya Branch of the Chamber of
Architects, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Armağan Güleç Korumaz, expressed his immense
happiness over the achievement of bringing such a project to Konya. He stated,
"As the Konya Branch of the Chamber of Architects, we are extremely
pleased because we were able to provide Konya with such a project. This will be
Turkey's first architecture museum. Although there have been some small and
independent initiatives before, we take great joy and pride in officially bringing
Turkey's first architecture museum to Konya and Sille."
The allocation protocol for Sille Subaşı Bathhouse,
Çamaşırhane, and Müstemilat Buildings was signed between Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet
Pekyatırmacı and Konya Branch President of the Chamber of Architects, Ahmet
Övet. The signing ceremony for the protocol was also attended by the former
branch president, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Armağan Güleç Korumaz.
