Karatay Hosts Industrial Waste Management Meeting

Karatay Municipality hosted the Industrial Waste Management Meeting. Karatay Municipality, which has made significant progress with its projects and initiatives on "Zero Waste," hosted another program.


The "Industrial Waste Management Meeting" was held in cooperation with the Konya Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, Konya Metropolitan Municipality, and Karatay, Meram, and Selçuklu Municipalities to manage manufacturing waste generated from industrial production processes in accordance with environmental regulations.


The program, held at the Karatay Ali Ulvi Kurucu Youth Center established by Karatay Municipality, was attended by Özgür Somuncu, Deputy Director of the Konya Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change; Mehmet Akif Belen, Waste Management Branch Director of the Climate Change and Zero Waste Department at Konya Metropolitan Municipality; Ramazan Şevik, Deputy Mayor of Karatay Municipality; as well as the Environmental Protection and Control Directors, Climate Change and Zero Waste Directors, and Police Department Heads of Karatay, Meram, and Selçuklu Municipalities, along with representatives from industrial site administrations in Konya.


During the meeting, detailed information was provided to the management and representatives of Konya’s industrial sites on topics such as the definition and types of waste within the framework of environmental regulations, methods of waste disposal and recovery, the responsibilities of waste producers and owners, the types of waste that district municipalities are obligated to collect, and the fieldwork to be carried out following the briefing.
