Konya Architecture Festival Starts on the 22nd!

Konya Architecture Festival 2022, Turkey's first and only architecture festival of its kind, starts with the opening ceremony to be held at Kültür Park on the occasion of October 3, World Architecture Day.

Konya Architecture Festival 2022, Turkey's first and only architecture festival of its kind, starts with the opening ceremony to be held at Kültür Park on the occasion of October 3, World Architecture Day. The World Architecture Day, which is determined as the first Monday of October every year by the World Union of Architects (UIA), is the 5th anniversary of the celebration of the Chamber of Architects Konya Branch with a series of events spread throughout October by saying "There is Architecture in This City!" KMF 22' will be full again. Starting with the theme of "Design for Health" declared internationally by the World Union of Architects and organized on October 3-4 at Kültür Park, "6. In the "Architecture in the City Exhibition", private sector and public projects that contribute to the architectural practice of the city will be exhibited and these projects will meet with the citizens as well as the sector representatives. "Artist Architects Exhibition" will become an environment where our architects who are architects and operate in every field of art will exhibit their handicraft works.

The Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects (TMMOB), Chamber of Architects Konya Branch President Armağan Güleç Korumaz invited all Konya residents to the Culture Park festival area on October 3-4 because the main goal of KMF 22 is to meet the architectural activity in Konya with the urbanites. Korumaz said, "Another leg of Konya Architecture Festival 22's 3-4 October Culture Park activities will be the workshops that were met with great interest last year. Although the Department of Architecture in the universities within our city is aimed at its students, educational and qualified workshops that our compatriots who spend time in Kültür Park can also be stakeholders will take place in the festival area this year as they do every year. Calligraphy, Illumination, Pencilwork, Painting and Sketching workshops organized by Necmettin Erbakan University Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture Faculty Members, Ceramics prepared by Selcuk University Faculty of Fine Arts Faculty Members, Structure, Sketching, Drama, Fashion, Zero Waste workshops prepared by Konya Technical University Faculty of Architecture and Design faculty members, Cinema, 3D Printer, VR workshops that our architect members will personally carry out, technology and architecture such as Science of the Future The workshops to be carried out at the common point will support the sector in terms of both architectural education and architectural production. In addition to the Architectural Photography Workshop to be organized by the Konya Amateurs of Photography Association (KONFAD), KMF 22' will be held in the festival area for 2 days with the workshops that companies in the private sector will do with building materials. Within the scope of the social responsibility project, KIZILAY will take place in the festival area with its mobile blood donation center on both days.
