THE FOUNDATION OF THE LIBRARY TO BE BUILT IN PLACE OF THE OLD MUNICIPALITY BUILDING IS BEING LAID THIS YEAR

Mayor Altay also shared good news about the old Metropolitan Municipality building, which had to be demolished because it was not earthquake resistant, and said, "As you know, we have evacuated the area where our Metropolitan Municipality building is. The building had an earthquake-related problem. Now, God willing, we have started to work to bring one of the most beautiful city libraries of Turkey. We plan to lay the foundation this year and present it to your service as soon as possible. As long as you support us, there is nothing we cannot achieve. It is so beautiful that my Lord has blessed us to serve you in this beautiful city. Konya is a city that reads. Konya is a cultured city. Konya is a young city. I would like to thank you all individually for your participation."

After the opening speech, the program continued with the interview and signing day by the author Hayati İnanç.

This year's Konya Book Days are organized in memory of Rasim Özdenören, one of the important writers of our world of ideas, who passed away last July.
