Konya Builds Turkey’s First Zero Carbon Library

Konya Builds Turkey’s First Zero Carbon Library

The City Library, which is being constructed by Konya Metropolitan Municipality on the site of the old municipal building and will become Turkey’s first Zero Carbon building, is rapidly taking shape.

Konya Metropolitan Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay inspected the construction of the City Library and received information about the latest developments.

Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that the construction of the library for young people in one of Konya’s most beautiful locations is progressing rapidly. He said, “This place served our city for many years as the Konya Metropolitan Municipality service building, but due to earthquake risk, we had to demolish it. Although this area is worth billions of lira commercially, we are building one of Turkey’s most beautiful libraries here to serve our youth. Hopefully, once completed, it will be one of the most remarkable structures in the country. We are working extensively not only in terms of the physical space but also in terms of digital technology. Once finished, our city and our country will gain one of the libraries with the most advanced digital infrastructure, accessible to people of all age groups.”
