The 6th edition of the #Connect4Mobility program, one of Europe’s leading urban mobility platforms, was hosted by Konya, the European Cycling Capital.
Held at Taş Bina Culture and Arts by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality under the theme “Data-Driven Urban Mobility,” the program brought together companies, entrepreneurs, academics, local governments, and decision-makers from different disciplines.
Speaking at the opening of the program, Mustafa Uzbaş, Deputy Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, said, “At this point, we actively use more than 200 smart city applications in Konya. We have institutionalized a data-driven management approach in many areas ranging from transportation and the environment to energy and security. From our smart intersection systems to public transportation optimization, from bicycle infrastructure to our digital management platform, we are striving to transform our city into a living, learning, and continuously evolving organism across a wide range of fields.”
Emphasizing that the future of cities can only be built together rather than individually, Mustafa Uzbaş said, “For this reason, we see the organization of such a valuable event in Konya as an extremely important opportunity to strengthen our cooperation and shared vision. I sincerely believe that every session held here today will contribute to making our city more livable and sustainable.”
At the program, Ahu Serter, Chairperson of Fark Holding and Fark Labs, also delivered a detailed speech informing participants about the founding purpose and activities of Fark Labs.
Hasan Görgülü, Head of the Transportation Department of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, also spoke at a panel held as part of the program, where he discussed the municipality’s work on sustainable transportation, urban mobility, and data-driven initiatives.
Organized under the coordination of Fark Labs in cooperation with Konya Metropolitan Municipality and Sabancı University, the program is also supported by EIT Urban Mobility, one of the branches of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). The program aims to accelerate the transformation of cities and create a platform for strategic discussions.
