Konya Hosts Archaeological Excavations Meeting

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay attended the “Konya Darülmülk Archaeological Excavations Meeting,” organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Konya Metropolitan Municipality.

Speaking at the meeting held at Konya Metropolitan Municipality Taş Bina Culture and Arts Center, Mayor Altay emphasized that Konya is home to many valuable works and stated that they are working to uncover these works starting from the Inner Fortress area and to reconstruct those that are possible.

Mayor Altay stated that they are striving to ensure visitors to Konya can experience the 12th and 13th centuries, adding that they are working meticulously to contribute to the city’s cultural heritage and tourism potential.

As part of the meeting, excavation leaders discussed the work they have carried out, the findings obtained, the needs encountered, and plans for the upcoming period. In addition, the contributions of the excavations to Konya’s cultural heritage and tourism potential were discussed.
