Konya Hosts Climate Change Adaptation Training

A training program on climate finance was organized in Konya, one of the four pilot cities under the "Project for Strengthening Climate Change Adaptation Actions in Turkey," along with the introduction of the "Konya Local Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan."

In a meeting held at a hotel, Meral Mungan Arda, the UNDP Climate Change and Environment Portfolio Manager, stated that the project has been ongoing since 2019. She emphasized that Konya plays a crucial role in this project, which leads efforts to enhance Turkey's capacity to adapt to climate change.

The officials from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change's Directorate of Climate Change, as well as the Directorate of Climate Change and Zero Waste of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, stated that they aim to progress together in the fight against climate change and expressed their gratitude to everyone involved in the project.

The training sessions, which began with the participation of expert speakers, academics, and industry representatives, are expected to be completed on April 30. Additionally, participants who attend the full three days of the program will be eligible to receive a certificate.
