Konya Leads the Way in Green Initiatives for Sustainable Future

In Konya, the 2nd Industrial Zone focused on green transformation and sustainability at the Green Transformation and Sustainability Summit. Konya Chamber of Industry is providing information to industrialists on green transformation and highlighting energy efficiency projects.

Mustafa Büyükeğen, the President of Konya Chamber of Industry, emphasized the importance of Konya, one of Turkey's leading cities, maintaining its competitiveness through the Green Agreement Process. President Büyükeğen also shared the steps taken by the Konya Chamber of Industry towards becoming a carbon-neutral chamber. With a 40 kW solar power plant in the chamber's garden, they prevent 22 tons of carbon emissions annually. Additionally, they plan to contribute to carbon reduction by planting a total of 10,000 trees next year, with 5 trees for each of the 2,000 members.

Uğur Ibrahim Altay, the Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, stated that they are active in various areas to achieve the city's 2053 net zero carbon emissions goal. Konya, taking a leadership role in green transformation, continues its initiatives in environmentally friendly production and sustainable development.
