Konya Metropolitan Joins the 953rd Anniversary Celebrations of the Manzikert Victory

The booth set up by Konya Metropolitan Municipality in Ahlat district of Bitlis, within the framework of the events commemorating the 953rd anniversary of the Manzikert Victory, has been drawing significant attention from the public.

The celebrations for the 953rd anniversary of the Manzikert Victory, which began with great enthusiasm at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Ahlat National Garden in Çarho on the shores of Lake Van, where the "Sultan Alparslan Otağı" was also established, continued with activities including folk dances, mehter band performances, wrestling matches, and archery events.

At the celebrations organized by the Archers Foundation under the auspices of the Presidency, Konya Metropolitan Municipality, which took part in the event, hosted its guests in the Yörük tent assigned to them in Ahlat.

Welcoming its visitors with a mehter band performance, Konya Metropolitan Municipality is bringing history to life by presenting short shows that depict the Manzikert Victory in Seljuk-era historical costumes for those who visit the tent.

The performances by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mehter Band at events in both Ahlat and Manzikert in Muş received widespread acclaim from the public.
