Konya Receives Award, Surpassing 63 Countries

Konya has won an award, surpassing 63 countries including the United States, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Canada, Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Finland, Austria, Argentina, the Netherlands, China, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, India, and Belgium.


Konya Metropolitan Municipality was honored at the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona, the world's largest and most influential technology event in the field of Smart Cities. They received an award in the "Mobility" category for their "Bicycle Tram" project.


Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur Ibrahim Altay stated that with the projects they have implemented, Konya continues to serve as a model in the field of Smart Cities. He expressed his happiness at the city being an example to the world in this regard, saying, "Our city being a global example in this field brings us great joy. Hopefully, our goal is to implement more than 100 Smart City projects by 2030 and become a leading city worldwide."


Mayor Uğur Ibrahim Altay emphasized that with the projects they have implemented, Konya continues to serve as a model in the field of Smart Cities.
