KONYARAY: A Modern Transportation Network Coming to Konya

The construction of the KONYARAY Suburban Line, which will be brought to the city by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, is progressing rapidly.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that they have brought important investments to Konya, from new avenues to overpasses, in order to ease traffic in the center of Konya and provide drivers with a safe and comfortable driving experience.

Altay stated, "We laid the foundation for this important project, which will strengthen our city's transportation infrastructure and provide our citizens with faster, more comfortable transportation, at a ceremony we held in April of last year. Our work on the first stage of the project, the 17.4-kilometer section between Konya Train Station and Kayacık Logistics Center, is continuing rapidly. Many stages, such as track laying, station construction, underpass and overpass construction, and route adjustments, are progressing successfully as planned."

Mayor Altay stated that with the completion of the project, urban transportation will become faster and more effective. "KONYARAY Suburban Line is a project designed to meet the increasing transportation needs of Konya as it grows. This line will both facilitate daily life and make a positive contribution to the economic dynamics of the city. With the addition of the KONYARAY Suburban Line to the city, our city will have a more modern and sustainable transportation network. I would like to thank our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, our Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Mr. Abdülkadir Uraloğlu, and the General Directorate of TCDD for making this important investment, which has a total cost of 2.3 billion Turkish lira, available to our city."
