The 120-year-old mosque in Kurucuova Neighborhood in Konya
is being restored. The cost of the restoration work will reach 12 million.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur Ibrahim Altay
expressed that they have undertaken significant efforts as the Metropolitan
Municipality to preserve historical values and pass them on to future
generations.
Highlighting the rich historical heritage present in every
corner of Konya, Mayor Altay emphasized, "Cities live and thrive through
their cultures. As the Metropolitan Municipality, we are working intensively to
preserve all the cultural and historical values that our city possesses and to
revive them in their original form. One of the many restoration projects we are
carrying out in this context is the 120-year-old mosque in Kurucuova
Neighborhood, which is affiliated with the Beyşehir district. We have begun
restoration work on this centuries-old mosque, aiming to complete it as soon as
possible and reopen it for worship. We wish the restoration project, which
costs nearly 12 million, to be beneficial for our district and city."
