KTO Karatay University

KTO Karatay University has been one of the rising universities of Turkey since its foundation in 2009. 


The name of the university comes from Karatay Madrasa, which was built in 1251 by one of the Emirs of the Anatolian Seljuk State, Celaleddin Karatay. On, 7 July 2009, one of Turkey’s oldest chambers of commerce reopened the university through the Konya Chamber of Commerce Education and Health Foundation. 



KTO University hosts more than 600 students on its campuses and became the 5th university in 2021 for its Research and Development investments in Turkey. Additionally, KTO Karatay came 15th among 153 universities in Turkey in the Graduate Employment Ranking of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, Human Resources Office. 


The number of students has reached 8500 and the academic staff is currently 400 while recruiting 290 administrative personnel. The university offers more than 40 associate and undergraduate programs. The university has 6 faculties, 3 academies, 3 vocational schools, and 1 institute for graduate studies.


Modern and Hygienic Campus 


The campus has a total area of 530.000 m2 including 94.944 m2 indoor and 435.076 m2 outdoor area. At KTO Karatay University, education is held in high-tech classrooms where Seljuk architecture meets modern structures. KTO Karatay is the first university in Turkey with a hygiene and sanitation certificate delivered by the Turkish Standards Institution. Plus, KTO Karatay’s campus has an environmentalist title and is 35th in UI GreenMetric World University Rankings in Turkey, and 607th in the whole world.


Accessible Campus 


KTO Karatay University offers a barrier-free campus environment for students with disabilities. Automatic elevators at the doors of all buildings and at the top of all stairs enable our students to reach their desired destinations unhindered. In order to achieve the goal of a barrier-free campus, the following studies have been carried out;


  • Disabled ramps in all buildings 
  • Accessible parking spaces in front of all buildings
  • Accessible toilets in all buildings 
  • Elevators with braille buttons for the visually impaired 
  • The unobstructed floor at building entrances and inside buildings 
  • Unique guidance systems and signs for the disabled
