Meram Mayor Inspects Sükran Urban Transformation

Meram Mayor Mustafa Kavuş inspected the first phase of the Suriçi Bazaar within the Sahibata Neighborhood Sükran Urban Transformation Project, which is nearing completion.

Mayor Kavuş, who oversaw the construction and gathered information about the process, announced that despite the winter conditions, the ongoing phase would be completed and open for service in the first half of 2025.

Mayor Kavuş, who supervised the construction of the first phase and gathered information about the process, announced that the project, carried out under the coordination of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, in collaboration with Meram Municipality and Emlak Planning and Project Services Inc. (EPP), would be completed and opened for service in the first half of 2025, despite the ongoing winter conditions.

After his inspections, Mayor Mustafa Kavuş made a statement about the project and ongoing works. He reminded that the second and registered island phases of the Suriçi Market had been completed, stating, "In the first completed second phase of the project, deeds were transferred, and keys were handed over to the rightful owners. The shops are filling up, and workspaces are being designed. Seeing the positive response from our citizens for the completed phases only increases our determination to continue. Even though we are in the winter months, we are moving forward with our work without slowing down. After Hasankeyf, our 'Registered Island Phase,' where the most registered buildings have been relocated in Turkey, is also completed and counting the days to open. This area, which connects the past with the present, has become one of the regions that best reflects Konya’s culture and civilization. It will attract the attention and admiration of both our fellow citizens and guests from outside the city."
