Ender Yorgancılar, Vice President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and President of the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry, talked about the intensified industry in the Marmara Region in Turkey. Yorgancılar pointed out the importance of the Marmara Region in the Turkish economy and referred to TOBB President’s statements on a similar subject. He emphasized the share of the Marmara Region in national income, employment and exports and stated that this situation should be moved to other regions, taking into account the earthquake risk. He said that a study conducted by TEPAV also suggested taking steps in this direction.

Yorgancılar stated that “the process of moving the industry to other regions requires a transformation that covers not only the earthquake zones but all of Turkey. Moving would become meaningless if the desire to work in risky areas decreases. structures should be created to meet all kinds of needs, from education to health. The infrastructure should be completed and support should be provided in the regions where the industry will be moved.

Yorgancılar also drew attention to the indebtedness of the companies during the process of relocating the industry to other regions. He stated that moving requires a great responsibility, Companies should be supported in this process and we should take into account the financial situations of the companies
