National Sovereignty and Children's Day Celebrated with Enthusiasm in Konya

On April 23, 2025, National Sovereignty and Children's Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and participation in Konya. This special day, dedicated to children by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, was marked by various events across the city.


Start at the Monument Area

The celebrations began early in the morning with the placing of a wreath at the Atatürk Monument in the Monument Area, organized by the Provincial Directorate of National Education. The ceremony then moved to the Mevlana Cultural Center, where a moment of silence and the National Anthem followed. Students performed folk dances, recited poems, and athletes from the Youth and Sports Directorate staged various sporting events.


Children's Book Days at Selçuklu Congress Center

For the first time, Konya Metropolitan Municipality organized "Konya Children's Book Days" on April 23. Held at the Selçuklu Congress Center, the event allowed children to meet authors, participate in fun workshops, and engage in activities centered around books. The event will continue until April 27.


A Day Filled with Science, Art, and Fun

The Konya Science Center celebrated April 23 with a program full of science, art, and entertainment. Children joined the science festival, learning while having fun. The event was held from 10:00 AM to 4:45 PM and was free of charge.


The Governor's Office Handed Over to Children

In a special move, the Konya Governor's Office was handed over to primary school students Ahmet Erdem Demirtoka and Asya Tören for the day. This symbolic gesture added to the excitement of the holiday.
