PEMAeco Club

1. What is Pemaeco? Can you briefly tell us about your club?

- Promoting Ecological Mindful Awaraness club was founded by students of PEMA College who are sensitive to the environment and animal rights. A club that aims to help the environment, people and, when necessary, animals. Our aim is to beautify and contribute to Turkey and Konya. We want to develop our club and ensure that the students who come after us continue our activities.

2. What are your club’s activities?

- We realized our first project, the Zero Waste Project, together with Selçuklu Municipality. We received a training about zero waste at Selçuklu Municipality. We visited the municipal recycling center. We had interviews with experts in their fields there. Our current project is that we are organizing a book campaign with our friends at our school for the library of Antakya High School, which was affected during the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş in Turkey.

3. What projects and ideas do you want to realize in the future?

Our next goal is to work together with centers such as DOSD Meram and SOBE operating in Konya. On the other hand, with our mission to protect animals, we want to visit animal shelters and obtain materials that may be needed, such as dry and wet food. We aim to help animals continue their lives in a warmer and protected environment. We would like to expand our club. Outside of school, we aim to inform our friends living in Konya about our activities and goals, by sharing information to protect the world and our ecosystem, so that they can be informed on this subject.
