As of 31 December 2025, the population residing in Türkiye increased by 427,224 compared to the previous year, reaching 86,092,168. The male population was recorded at 43,059,434, while the female population stood at 43,032,734. In other words, men constituted 50.02 percent of the total population, while women accounted for 49.98 percent.
According to the results of the Address-Based Population Registration System (ABPRS), the foreign population residing in the country increased by 38,968 compared to the previous year, reaching 1,519,515. Of this population, 49.3 percent were men and 50.7 percent were women.
While the annual population growth rate was 3.4 per thousand in 2024, it rose to 5 per thousand in 2025.
Konya’s most populous district did not change in 2025. Selçuklu maintained its leading position with a population of 703,449. It was followed respectively by Karatay (395,499) and Meram (349,685).
According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Yalıhüyük was identified as Konya’s least populous district, with a population of 1,704. Despite this, Yalıhüyük stood out among the districts in terms of its population growth rate.
Konya’s population growth shows a strong urban concentration pattern, rather than a balanced regional spread.
