Selçuklu Municipality, which has the title of the district
with the most libraries in Turkey, has crowned its success in this area with
the New Generation City Library, which has a different design and many usage
areas. The library reached 24,669 members, 53,683 books, and 270,000 visitors
in a 9-month period.
The New Generation City Library, established in the Bosna Hersek
Neighborhood, is truly impressive. This three-story library not only offers an
extensive collection but also caters to the various needs of book enthusiasts
with its social amenities.
The library, which commenced its operations on November 27,
2022, has reached a total of 24,669 members within a 9-month period. The New
Generation City Library, which has received significant attention from
students, provides a valuable resource for book enthusiasts with a total of
53,683 books, including a Children's Library.
Since its opening, the library has welcomed 270,000 visitors
and houses a collection of 43,519 books. With a central study area that can
accommodate 204 people, the library features an educational center, group study
rooms, meeting halls, classrooms, and social spaces, providing a total capacity
of 600 users.
Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırmacı regularly visits the
central library, which has introduced a new dimension to the concept of
libraries in Konya. During these visits, he meets with students who benefit
from the services and listens to their feedback and opinions about the center.
