In Konya, within the framework of the "We Meet at
Pedestrian Crossings with Flags in Our Hands" project initiated by the
Ministry of Interior and organized simultaneously in 81 provinces, the
pedestrian crossing line was painted red in order to raise awareness in the
"Pedestrian Priority Posture, Respect for Life" event.
In front of Alaeddin Primary School in Selçuklu district of
Konya, the project "We Meet at Pedestrian Crossings with Flags in Our
Hands" was carried out with the students.
Within the framework of the "Pedestrian Priority
Posture, Respect for Life" event, the pedestrian crossing line was first
painted red to draw attention to pedestrian priority. Later, the protocol
attending the event was crossed using a pedestrian crossing accompanied by
students and police.
Deputy Governor Mehmet Aydın, who participated in the event,
said that this practice is currently carried out in all provinces and
districts, "Our main goal is to prioritize pedestrians, to draw attention
to the fact that the pedestrian is first on the road, to create public opinion
and to create awareness in Turkey on this issue. Together with our governor
friends and members of the police, our main goal is to instill this awareness
in our children, the guarantee of our future."
The event ended after the students were given gifts.
