Mayor Mustafa Kavuş stated, "It is impossible for me to put into words the happiness I feel in witnessing the first outcome of our Şükran Urban Transformation Project, which we have worked on with great effort, care, and intense dedication, alongside my team since the day I took office. However, I can say this: Today, my team and I feel a great sense of 'gratitude' for this beautiful beginning, which I believe will leave a lasting mark on the future of my city and district."
Konya Metropolitan Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay mentioned that the excitement expressed by Mayor Mustafa Kavuş at the opening was a result of the years of effort he has dedicated to this project. Mayor Altay reminded that the Suriçi Bazaar is a piece of the Dar-ül Mülk puzzle, with work being carried out at 20 different points. He said, "Years ago, no one would have even considered discussing, let alone undertaking, the investments, changes, and transformations happening in Konya today. However, now we are seeing the results of years of effort, one by one. Here, you can find artifacts from every layer of history. Life and trade have been ongoing here for thousands of years. I find the choice of naming the bazaar 'Suriçi' both meaningful and valuable. The energy and strength to carry out all these efforts come from our fellow citizens. Konya has always given us strong and unwavering support. We want to see Konya's share in tourism grow. The Suriçi Bazaar will become one of our city's new brands on this path," he said.
