Konya Metropolitan Municipality carried out special lighting works at key locations in the city center, as it does every year, to help residents feel the spirit of Ramadan more strongly throughout the city.
As part of the lighting works carried out ahead of Ramadan, embracing an aesthetic approach in harmony with Konya’s historical and spiritual identity, special illuminations were installed at Mevlana Square and Mevlana Street, the Türbeönü Bazaars, the Historic Bedesten, Zafer Square, and Kazım Karabekir Street. For the first time this year, the interior of the Metropolitan Municipality’s Stone Building was also adorned with special lighting.
Decorations featuring the crescent and star, the crescent moon, and traditional Ramadan lanterns—symbols reflecting the spirit of unity, sharing, and peace during the holy month—have given the city center a radiant appearance, especially in the evening hours.
The illuminations, especially those installed in and around Mevlana Square, allow both the people of Konya and domestic and international visitors to experience the spiritual joy of Ramadan, the Sultan of the eleven months, in its fullest sense.
