"We will rebuild Gaza"

Konya Metropolitan Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay condemned the ongoing violence in Gaza and announced the creation of the "Cities Voice for Gaza platform, uniting mayors worldwide to support civilians and advocate for peace.

Speaking at a recent municipal and international gathering, Mayor Altay described the human toll in Gaza as "an immense and shared tragedy," noting that scenes of civilian suffering - children dying from hunger, cities destroyed by bombardment, and reports of unlawful detentions - weigh heavily on the conscience of communities worldwide. 

He emphasized that such suffering is not merely a regional issue but a moral challenge for the international community.
