Weddings Held in Zazadin Inn Keep the Seljuk Period Alive
Historical figures and motifs attract attention in the weddings held at the Zazadin Inn, which is the largest caravanserai built by the Anatolian Seljuk State in Konya.
The inn, which has attracted the attention of those who have been visiting since the day it was opened to visitors with its arrangements reflecting the characteristics of the period, also organizes weddings and mass meals.
Tourism operator Hikmet Çetiner said that in the past, food was cooked with large cauldrons in caravanserais and given to those who stayed.
Çetiner, stating that those who want to keep the Seljuk period alive in their weddings came to the inn, said, "Traditional Konya rice was served to 3 thousand guests at the circumcision wedding. We hosted guests from Konya and different provinces in Zazadin Han. Our cub entered the inn on the shoulders of the young people dressed in kayı clothes. The circumcised child, who was greeted with applause, sat on the throne prepared for him. Those who saw the representative Seljuk soldiers positioned at the gates here also took photos. The guests lived through the 13th century."
