Traditional Kadayıf Remains an Eid Favorite in Konya

Traditional kadayıf, one of Konya's most beloved desserts, continues to be a popular choice during Eid al-Adha celebrations. Prepared in copper trays using techniques passed down through generations, the dessert remains a staple on holiday tables across the city.

Known for its rich flavor and affordability, kadayıf is widely enjoyed by families gathering to celebrate the holiday and welcome guests. The dessert holds a special place in Konya's culinary culture and remains closely associated with festive occasions.

Hakan Güvez, who has been preparing copper tray kadayıf at Konya's historic Bedesten Bazaar for 40 years, said demand remains high throughout the holiday period.

"Kadayıf is one of the traditional desserts of Eid. Families continue to serve it to their guests, and the tradition remains strong. We are pleased to see that interest in this dessert continues from generation to generation," he said.

Prepared using traditional methods and baked in copper trays, kadayıf continues to be an important part of Eid celebrations while preserving a long-standing culinary tradition in Konya.
