İbrahim Akın, who has been appointed as the Governor of Konya from the Presidency of the Civil Inspection Board with the decree published in the Official Gazette with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is on his duty.
Governor İbrahim Akın stated that “92 percent of the public order incidents that occurred in Konya in the last two months were clarified. Successful results have been achieved in the operations carried out against organized crime, especially recently, and that the fight against drugs continues uninterruptedly. Noting that operations against crime and criminals have increased in the city. It is our fundamental responsibility to protect and strengthen the peace in Konya.”
CRIME RATES DECREASED IN KONYA
Providing information about Konya’s public order, Governor Akın said the following in his speech: “Thanks to the public order activities carried out throughout the province, a visible decrease in crime rates has been achieved. Patrol activities and practices carried out jointly by our police force and gendarmerie have contributed to a significant decrease in crimes such as theft, extortion and fraud. Especially recently, successful results have been achieved in operations against organized crime. Successful and devoted work was carried out in Konya in 2024.”
