798th Anniversary of Rumi’s Arrival in Konya

The 798th anniversary of Rumi and his family’s arrival in Konya is being commemorated with meaningful events.

A welcoming ceremony was held as part of the "Teşrif-i Konya" events organized by Konya Metropolitan Municipality to mark the 798th anniversary of Rumi and his family’s arrival in Konya.

As part of the events to be held over three days at the Mevlana Cultural Center by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, a “Symphonic Hymns” concert will take place on Monday, May 4 at 20:30, followed by a “Symphonic Mehter” concert on Tuesday, May 5 at 20:00. Throughout the event period, the Konya Turkish Sufi Music Ensemble will also perform the Sema Ceremony each day at 19:00.

In addition, visitors will be able to experience a light installation depicting the journey of Rumi in front of the Open Sema Hall at the Mevlana Cultural Center, along with a photography exhibition themed “The Road and the Journey” and an illustration exhibition presenting 18 services.
