Besra Duman Becomes European Champion for the Second Time

National para powerlifting athlete Besra Duman of Meram Belediyespor achieved a significant success at the European Championship held in Georgia. The national athlete completed the championship with one gold and one bronze medal.


National athlete Besra Duman, competing in the women’s 61 kg category at the European Championship held in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, became the European champion with a successful 117-kilogram lift in the snatch.


With this result, Besra Duman secured the second European championship title of her career. The national athlete also won a bronze medal in the overall ranking, completing the championship with two medals.


Following the championship, national athlete Besra Duman expressed her great happiness about the achievement and said:


“I am proud to become the European champion once again at the European Championship held in Tbilisi, Georgia. This is my second European championship title. We worked very hard to represent my country and my club in the best possible way. I would like to thank Mustafa Kavuş, the Mayor of Meram, as well as the administrators of Meram Belediyespor, my coaches, and everyone who supported me throughout this process. Hopefully, I will continue to win new medals for my country in the future.”
