Defne Temur, the successful wushu athlete of Meram Belediyespor, will have the honour of representing Türkiye on the international stage. Drawing attention with her outstanding performance, the young athlete has been invited to the Wushu Kung Fu National Team squad by the Turkish Wushu Federation.
With her determination, hard work and perseverance, Defne Temur continues to be a source of pride for both Meram and Türkiye. The accomplished wushu athlete of Meram Belediyespor will now proudly represent the country internationally. Having stood out with her remarkable achievements, the young athlete has officially been called up to the Wushu Kung Fu National Team by the Turkish Wushu Federation.
The 10th World Junior Wushu Championship, included in the 2026 activity program of the Turkish Wushu Federation and the International Wushu Federation (IWUF), will be held in Tianjin, China, between March 23-31, 2026. Prior to this major event, the National Team will hold a training camp in China from March 1-20, 2026, as part of its preparations.
Define Temur will participate in both the training camp and the World Championship, competing under the Turkish flag.
The national team's program does not end there. Following the championship, the Wushu National Team will begin preparations for the 4th Youth Olympic Games, scheduled to take place in Dakar, the capital of Senegal, between October 30 and November 15, 2026.
Defne Temur's selection to the national team is seen as a concrete reflection of the importance given to sports in Meram.
