Konya Athletes Excel in National Competitions

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club continues to make Konya proud in national competitions across various disciplines.

The first stage of the Turkish Cup Point Road Races was held in Alanya. Organized by the Cycling Federation, the event saw Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club compete in four different categories, securing a total of nine medals: three gold, one silver, and five bronze. Additionally, Ramazan Yılmaz from the Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club claimed the turquoise jersey by winning the General Classification in the Men's Elite category.

The results of the Road Races are as follows:

In the 20-kilometer Individual Time Trial for the Men's Elite category, Ali İhsan Egin from Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club secured first place, while Ramazan Yılmaz finished third.

In the 150-kilometer Men's Elite Individual Road Race Classification, athletes from Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club claimed all top three positions: Ahmet Can Akpınar took first place, Muhammed Erkan came second, and Mustafa Tarakcı placed third.

In the 150-kilometer Men's Elite Team Road Race Classification, Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club achieved first place as a team in this category.

For the 35-kilometer Men's Elite Criterium Race, Ramazan Yılmaz from Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club finished first, and Yunus Emre Yılmaz took third place.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club also secured first place in the 94-kilometer U19 Juniors Category. Additionally, in the U19 Individual Road Race Classification, Nafız Ege Karagöl from Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club claimed third place.

At the Senior Greco-Roman Wrestling Turkey Championship held in Ankara, the wrestling team of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club achieved significant success. The athletes from the yellow-black team made Konya proud by winning one silver and one bronze medal.

Hacı Karakuş, competing in the 67 kg category, secured second place in Turkey and earned a silver medal. Meanwhile, Burak Çakırca, competing in the 130 kg category, finished third in Turkey, bringing a bronze medal to Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club.
