Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor Finishes Third in Türkiye at U16 Championship

Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor achieved a significant success by finishing third in Türkiye at the U16 Turkish Championship hosted in Konya as part of the Turkish Basketball Federation’s 2025–2026 domestic activities program.

A total of 16 teams competed in the tournament, with matches held at the Karatay Sports and Congress Center.

Representing Konya as the city’s only team in the championship, Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor stood out with its disciplined performances and determination throughout the tournament.

The yellow and black side advanced to the quarterfinals with a perfect record in the group stage, defeating Antalya Gelişim 72-60, Petkim 56-54, and Yeşim Spor 75-64.

In the quarterfinals, Büyükşehir secured a dramatic 75-74 victory over one of Türkiye’s most established basketball clubs, Darüşşafaka, to reach the semifinals. The team later faced Fenerbahçe before moving on to the third-place game.

In the battle for third place, Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor defeated Bahçeşehir Okulları A 72-62 in a highly competitive match, securing third place in Türkiye.
