Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor Wins Three Medals at European Judo Cup

Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor added another achievement to its growing list of international successes.


The European Judo Cup for Children was held in Kocaeli with the participation of 463 athletes from 15 countries. On the opening day of the competition at Şehit Polis Recep Topaloğlu Sports Hall, Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor’s Mehmet Talha Oruç claimed the gold medal in the 55 kg category after defeating all of his opponents.


Earlier this year, the talented judoka also won a gold medal at the Balkan Judo Championships. His latest victory at the European Judo Cup for Children further confirmed his consistent rise on the international stage.


Following his Balkan Championship title, Oruç has now added a European Cup title to his career, reinforcing his status as one of the sport’s most promising young athletes.


Two More Medals on the Final Day


Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor athletes Emiliya Küçük Karaca and Zeynep Rana Ermut also reached the podium on the second and final day of the tournament. Karaca won the bronze medal in the 32 kg category, while Ermut secured bronze in the 48 kg division after strong performances.


Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor finished the European Judo Cup for Children with a total of three medals—one gold and two bronze—adding another international success to the achievements of its youth development program.


Competing under the motto “Türkiye’s Strong Youth Development System,” Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor continues to contribute to Turkish sport across eight disciplines. The club remains committed to developing future national judokas while proudly representing Türkiye through its achievements at both national and international competitions.
